Our own brand: plant finder
Select-A-Plant
Select-A-Plant answers the question every garden centre hears: what will grow here? Most plant databases ask for a hardiness zone, and almost nobody outside gardening knows theirs. So we built a game that asks plain questions instead.
Built on
What was built
- A plant database of 60,000 plants, built from many public sources and cleaned of duplicates
- A three-round game that turns plain answers into plant picks
- Search by plant type, use, hardiness zone, sun, and water
- A page for every plant type and plant group, from peonies to pines
- A hardiness zone lookup for anyone who does not know theirs
- A public API so other sites can use the recommendations
The outcome
A visitor answers three questions and gets plants that suit their yard, garden centre favorites first.
